O.F. Mossberg & Sons was founded in 1919 by Oscar Frederick Mossberg and is the oldest family-owned and -operated firearms manufacturer in the United States. Headquartered in North Haven, Connecticut, with manufacturing in Eagle Pass, Texas, Mossberg has spent more than a century building affordable, durable guns for working shooters rather than collectors.

Its defining product is the Model 500 pump-action shotgun — one of the most-produced shotguns in history, with millions made and a signature tang-mounted safety that falls naturally under the thumb. The military 590A1 is the only pump-action shotgun to pass the U.S. Army's demanding Mil-Spec 3443E torture test. The lineup runs deep from there: the 835 Ulti-Mag was the first 3.5-inch 12-gauge, the gas-operated 940 (including the 940 JM Pro developed with Jerry Miculek) anchors the semi-auto line, and the budget-friendly Maverick 88 brings pump reliability at an entry price.

Mossberg isn't only shotguns.
