SIG SAUER

SIG SAUER traces its lineage to the Swiss Schweizerische Industrie Gesellschaft (SIG) and the German gunmaker J.P. Sauer & Sohn — a partnership that produced the legendary P-series pistols. Today the American company, SIG SAUER Inc., is headquartered in Newington, New Hampshire, where it designs and manufactures a full ecosystem of firearms, suppressors, optics, and ammunition.

The brand earned its reputation on the all-metal P226 and P229, duty pistols carried by military and law-enforcement units for decades. That heritage carried into the modular, striker-fired P320, whose serialized fire-control unit lets owners change calibers and frame sizes around a single component. In 2017 the P320 won the U.S. Army's Modular Handgun System competition and entered service as the M17 and M18. The micro-compact P365 then reshaped the everyday-carry market with full-size capacity in a pocketable frame.

SIG's long-gun line spans the AR-pattern M400 and the piston-driven MCX, while SIG Electro-Optics (ROMEO red dots, TANGO scopes) and SIG ammunition round out a complete shooting system. For many buyers, "SIG" is simply shorthand for accuracy, durability, and modular design.
